Man United vs Leicester City

Manchester United will return to domestic action this weekend as they face Leicester City in another round of Premier League football.

United are enjoying a strong run of form at the moment and are now just five points behind Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Leicester have had a rather difficult campaign but have begun picking up points of late and are pushing for the top half of the table.

The Red Devils picked up a 1-0 win in the last meeting between the two sides, ending a five-game winless streak in this fixture and will be looking to build on that this weekend.

When and where will the game take place?

United will return to Old Trafford this weekend for the league clash against the Foxes.

The match is set to be played on Sunday afternoon as the penultimate fixture of the gameweek.

Match Preview

Manchester United

United returned to winning ways in the league last weekend with a 2-0 win over Leeds United just days after playing out a 2-2 home draw against the Whites.

They then headed to the Spotify Camp Nou for the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie on Thursday and played out a 2-2 draw.

The Red Devils will feel gutted not to have come away with the win after a strong performance but will be looking to bounce back this weekend as they turn their attention to league football.

Erik ten Hag remains without Donny van de Beek, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay. All five players are out with injuries, while Casemiro is also set to miss out with a suspension.

Leicester City

The Foxes have had a turbulent campaign but seem to have found their feet in recent weeks.

They defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in their last match, with four different players getting on the scoresheet to overturn an early deficit and secure a well-deserved victory.

The Foxes will head to Old Trafford this weekend with confidence and have no real injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s game.

James Justin and former United man Jonny Evans are the only absentees from the visiting camp this weekend.

Players to watch – Maguire vs Iheanacho

Ten Hag rotated his starting XI last weekend ahead of the trip to Barcelona and could do the same on Sunday ahead of the return leg.

Team captain Harry Maguire could be handed a second consecutive league start but will need to put in a more convincing performance than he did at Elland Road last time out.

Kelechi Iheanacho has been reintroduced into Leicester’s starting XI and has impressed, scoring twice and providing three assists in his last two league games.

Both players will be looking to propel their respective teams to victory when they face off on Sunday.
